Things I Won't Miss

So, lately I am rather contemplative about finishing school as I walk around campus.
And these are
things I won't miss about Utah State
  • Zombies vs Aliens
  • Razor scooters that all the freshman boys ride around
  • bitter cold wind hitting my face in the morning
  • parking 15 minutes away from campus
  • the drive from my house to Logan every day
  • Space Exploration

Remember Valentine's Day?

I am way behind but I have to share with the blog world my wonderful Valentine's Day with my amazing hubby.
It started with school . . . I had a Stats Midterm that I couldn't miss. And . . . add it to the record books I got a 94%! Who knew I had any math skills? but after that I left to head home to primp and pack to leave for Salt Lake. We were able to leave about 2. Stopped at the one and only Smith & Edwards on the way down. We drove to our hotel from there, Little America and dropped off our stuff. The Little America was such a pretty hotel, very vintage. I would so recommend it!
We were able to jump on the Trax (for free) and head over to the Gateway for dinner at Applebees. We shared my new favorite dessert a Blondie! Also recommending that!
The concert was sooo great! I am definitely a concert girl. Thompson Square & Darius Rucker opened and they were great! Thomson Square was amazingly talented! Both Dalan & I loved them! Overall, it was a great night & I think that I am going to ask for concert tickets for Christmas for the rest of my life! :)

This Week.

There have been so many things this week that I want to share! I finally have time to share them!
Let's back up to last week . . . Friday night Dalan and I went to Dave Stamey's concert over in Hyrum. Dalan introduced me to Dave Stamey's music awhile ago and we love him! It was such a fun concert (listen to a song of his here). All of the of entertainers were great!
On Saturday, Kelsey & I headed up to Beaver with our awesome Special Olympic Snowshoeing team! They all did awesome! I was even in the relay team . . . we got a Bronze metal! It was also FREEZING cold, but so worth it. If you are ever looking to volunteer Special Olympics is the place to go!

Sunday we spent the day in Salt Lake as our sweet little niece was blessed. I love baby blessings. They bring such a great spirit to everyone's hearts. It was fun to spend time with everyone together. We came home and soon later my Mom, Carter & Josie were here to visit and to go to Josie's doctor's appointment. I was so glad that I was able to make party cookies with Josie and hang out for the little time that we had to share.

From this point on the days blur together. As a college student, wife, daughter, sister, blah blah blah, so many things going on . . . What does a girl do when she needs to take a shower but there is no time to because she also has to study?

She writes everything she knows onto the shower walls. . .
That is also how you know that the breaking point is very, very near. The next day was so strange. There were so many great things about the day & there were plenty of awful things as well. There was no in-between. First off, I got myself stuck in the snow, in my own drive-way . . . it took 40 minutes for my Brother-in-law to get me out. Thank goodness he came driving up right in time to rescue me! As I finally started off to school on my 45 minute drive, 40 minutes late, I wondered if I would be able to make it to my quiz in time. P.S. I really really needed to get there in time! I was 15 minutes late to class, and I took the quiz in the remaining 5 minutes left of class! My pencil was flying! ha ha I seriously don't know how that happened. Angels were on my side.

I went throughout the crazy day. Took my test, came back to my car to find that our friends the Logan parking cops had come to visit.

Not once . . . but twice. Lovely.

That was about how the day was. It was so terribly wrong, but somehow the pieces fit together very, very well. Don't forget to pray :)

I spent the whole night and early morning studying for my test at 9:00 and I am so grateful that I can feel more relaxed today. I am catching up on the Bachelor, Blogging and most importantly NOT studying. Spring Break can't come soon enough and graduating can't either.
7 more weeks everyone!

Saturdays

Saturday is for sleeping in, Special Olympics, cleaning, and crafting. Today I started painting our wall!! And as I wait for the paint to dry I am making some adorable cards for a few of the great people in my life.

This card is for my little sister Jalia. (Jailia, if you are reading this, DO NOT scroll down until Monday) I just love it, so I had to share. I looked at a few pictures of owls online and mimicked them.

"Owl always"
I added the buttons instead of googly eyes, some twine to replace the paper grass and I used scrap fabric for the heart.

"Love You!"
And this is the inside prior to our sweet messages of good wishes.

This card I made for Dalan for our 2nd anniversary! I can't believe that it has been 2 years. I really wanted to make a card that would be more manly and fess frilly and mushy for Dal.

"Our Love is Legend
wait for it . . . . ."
If any of you watch "How I Met Your Mother" then you will totally get this card, if not well you should start watching it because it is one of our favorite shows!
"ARY"

I think that I will start making more home-made cards. I am loving this. I can't wait to give them away! Happy Saturday All.

Making us Smile

So, maybe you are tired of hearing about our cute puppy, but the truth is I am not tired of playing with the cute little guy. I had to share some videos of what is making us laugh these days.

This video shows off our little guard dog. He barks when I open the door, when I pull into the drive way, anytime really. It is cute now with his small puppy bark, but I sure hope he doesn't bark forever.

And this little video demonstrates his cute, waddly run. I just love it. Today, puppy, Pepper and I made several circles around the house running and playing. It feels like a spring day!

What would we do without our Pepper! She makes us so happy!

A Proper Introduction

I just realized that I hadn't introduced anyone to our new puppy! He was born on New Years Day and he is just the sweetest. He is the only pup out of Pepper's litter, so he is very spoiled and has an unlimited supply of attention and milk. Sometimes he will cry so loud that I can hear him from in the house, but we all know that he isn't starving for food :)

He is two weeks old and his cute little eyes are open and his "land legs" are getting better everyday. It is so fun to have a puppy around! If only I could take my two cute puppies to school.

Have a Good Sunday Afternoon!

First Week of School

So this is how the first week of school went.

Monday:
I had Family Finance, which I decided will be both a super easy class as well as a very beneficial one. That combination doesn't come around too often. I also went to the wrong building and was late to a class with 500 people and I had to sit on the stairs for a while. I felt like a freshman, no offense to freshman, I just thought that I knew my way around campus after four years. Nope. I guess I don't.
Interpersonal Communication. A very interesting class about how we communicate with the people surrounding us. I think this will be very interesting and fun too, the professor seems great.
Billiards. I was completely dreading this class. I took it because I needed something to fit within an hour break I had between classes, it was my only option. However as I scanned the room to see who my new friends would be I heard an old friend call my name and it completely made my day. The class is actually pretty fun now and it is nice to have an hour to talk and relax before one more lecture of the day. p.s. I am very bad at pool.
Aural Rehabilitation is my last class of the day. I think it will be a great class. So far she has just reviewed which has been rather boring but I am sure we will get to the good stuff soon.

Tuesday:
Assessment and Intervention of 1-5 years. This class is great. It is very interesting. The lecture from Thursday was very intriguing and gave me some terms for things that I had observed.
Statistics. Well. Here it is. My last math class. I seriously wish I had taken this 2 years ago but oh well. There are about ten of us Speech Pathology majors that are all in it together. Not to mention so far I am completely getting the info.
Rock Climbing. I was feeling totally inadequate when my friend and I arrived and climbed next to all of the graceful beauties, but we went Thursday to increase our confidence and we had the whole room to ourselves to build some confidence. Plus we went shopping for some cute pants. That always helps.

Wednesday
Just add my Stats recitation to Monday's schedule. Another embarrassing story of being in the wrong building, however this was not my fault. Apparently they changed it after I had printed my schedule out . . . lame. I was late to that class too.
Plus. Dalan left for Colorado early that morning :(
So I stayed in Logan late and had dinner with my sister Kelsey!

Thursday
Just subtract Rock Climbing . . . I wish that it was Thursdays too though, my friend and I went anyway and the manager let me rent some shoes for free!
Dalan came back that night!!

Friday
Just subtract Aural Rehabilitation and Billiards.

Saturday
We are going on a rock climbing date tonight! I can't wait for Dalan to show me some tips! He is a great rock climber!

So that was my week. There is a lot going on around here again. It feels good to be busy and to have my hubby back from a long road trip of hauling Holsteins. I am starting to get excited for this to be my last semester at collage! It is bitter sweet. I will miss the schedule of school and all the sweet girls I know.

By the Way

One day during my first semester at USU I got hit by the long bar that stops cars from leaving the parking lot without paying . . . . what in the world is that called? I have no idea right now. But I thought I would share that embarrassing story. Know for future reference that those things don't stop for humans. . . .

Last First Day

I am so excited to be posting about my last first day of school that will be happening next Monday! As an overall warning for the year, I might be posting about my last first test, my last first of anything basically. I am posting about it today though because I decided I needed to start gearing up for this Spring Semester today. I am doing a deep clean of the house to help ease the stress of the semester. I bought a 2012 calender, a new notebook and a magnet grocery list for the fridge. I am hoping that as I start the new year I will be organized and less stressed. I found this quote on pinterest that I love, and needed today. I thought it was a good theme for my new year and new goals.

I don't usually make new years resolutions. I feel like they have a stigma to them that makes them not last. But this year I have written a few things down that I think should make for a good year.
  1. Read More Scriptures
  2. Enjoy the Moment
  3. Exercise and love my body
  4. Be a better wife
  5. Serve others
  6. Be patient

Last year was a great year and I am excited to be entering into another year with my sweet husband. Here are a few highlights.
