Hungry Bellies

Here are the faces I see when I go to feed my calves.

I don't think I ever see this calf without his tongue out.

They always act so so hungry, and come running mouths ready to eat.

Pretty Things

My dad sent me a camera battery charger in the mail just the other day. The one I got was lost in the mail, maybe stolen, who really knows. I've been dying to post some of these pictures to show you, but unfortunately we haven't had internet for the last 3 days.

Basically, these pictures are just close up of little things that I think are pretty. I was playing with the settings and getting to know my camera again.

Looking though different perspectives.

Finding the beauty in everything.

Admiring the simple things.

Thanks dad for thinking of me and sending the battery charger. It has made my week so much fun :)
Happy Fathers Day

Snapping Turtle!

On our way home from town yesterday Dalan spotted this snapping turtle, who was chillin' so close to our front yard.

I can't believe how big they are, I'm not sure the pictures give him justice. His tail is so long and take a look at his claws! A living dinosaur.

Of course we had to see if they really snapped . . . they do. This guy was real quick! See how far his neck is cranked over!

He can reach so far. It was a good adrenaline rush. Our friends down the road said that these are the only turtles that can roll off of their backs.

So, we had to test that too. He can flip over pretty fast actually. It was crazy.

We know. This makes Dalan look like a jerk. I promise you he isn't. We just wanted to make sure our neighbor wasn't pullin' our legs. For the record though, we stopped pestering the big, ugly turtle shortly after and he was not harmed :)
