Calligraphy

Today, as I relaxed from a day off, I played with my chalkboard and found this poem about October by Humbert Wolfe.

"Listen
The
Wind is Rising
And the air is wild with leaves
We have had our
Summer Evenings
Now for
October
Eves."

It fits the season well.

My October Bucket List:
Corn Maze
Miniature Golfing in Providence
Hot Chocolate
 Pumpkins
Halloween
Sweaters
Pumpkin Walk in Logan
Haunted House?? I don't know I am a baby!

I can't believe how much October Festivities we have already done!
What should I add to my list?

 Happy October!

My Life.

1. Exfoliate. Because my skin is going crazy and quite frankly so am I. So I soaked my feet at night, made a face mask and exfoliated my lips too. My skin is thanking me.

2. Killing flies. I have used every single magazine rolled up into a fly swatter to kill all the dumb flies in our house. Seriously. I need to go on another rampage.

3. 5,500 miles. Dalan drove 5,500 miles this month in the semi. I missed him. Although I did take off work once to truck to Colorado with him, and I liked that.

4. Scentsy. I am now selling Scentsy! I am way excited to start! The holidays are the perfect time to buy new scents! I should be getting my little starter kit in the mail tomorrow :)

5. Work Out. Because I seriously have been making myself this week. I am thinking of going to some classes . . . Ballet Blast just came to Logan . . . want to join?

October!

The colors are changing around here and it is beautiful!
Which means I get to do one of my favorite things  . . . . decorate! Here are some letters I made. Shout out to DIY Crafts over in Tremonton, they have such cute stuff! I got the owl and the gobblin glitter over at TJMaxx.

I made this wreath the other day too. I just bought a skeleton at WalMart and hot glued it all together. Easy Peasy Lemon Squeezy.
And here is the the font porch decor so far. I painted some pumpkins, I need some gold and glitter spray paint still . . .  I put out my scarecrow that I won at our Bingham Family Reunion and we will see what I add or subtract as the month goes by :)
And here is my accomplice. He is a pretty good one too.

Happy Halloween Month Everyone!

M.I.A.

I have been slacking in the blog world for a couple weeks . . . but good news, I am still alive! I have some good highlights to share, but not yet. Maybe I will blog later. That is what I said to myself for the last couple weeks though, so we will see. I thought I would share the two handouts I shared with the Beehives today though. They are good ones :)

Enjoy Conference!

life is better when you're laughing.

1. The VOICE!
This is ridiculous. I think The Voice is one of the best shows. I have been so excited for it to start up again. It makes me laugh out loud, and literally, not the LOL people put in a text because there is nothing else to say. literally laugh out loud. The banter and competitiveness between Blake and Adam is hilarious. And yeah. We are basically on a first name basis.

2. Murphy
This might sound silly to some of you but it was a big deal to get Murphy. After losing Pepper we were heartbroken. We didn't want to replace her yet we really needed a friend. Now looking back I am realizing exactly how important it was for us to get him. I'm not going to go into details here but that puppy has really brought comfort to us and let us laugh at life when life life wasn't funny.
This is Murphy on a very hot summer day. I filled his water bowl and he stuck his leg and face right in to cool off.

3. Laughing.
Dalan makes me laugh more than anyone else. It makes my heart happy. I love him more than anything. Life is better when you're laughing.
it does the heart good.
4. Let it Go
I just finished this book, Let It Go, by Chris Williams. This is an amazing book of forgiveness. It also incorporates following the spirit, the power of prayer and the atonement. I want to tell you all about it but he has written it beautifully and I don't want to ruin it. Instead watch this Mormon Message about his story and feel the spirit yourself. It is such a powerful message. I would recommend this book to anyone, no matter what you believe.

5. Sleeping in
Now this is on a much, much lighter note but this weekend has been so nice to me as to let me sleep in a little both Saturday and today. My mind is clear and rested and I am ready to tackle the world.

Laugh Lots.

I like . . .

1. Temptation Cupcakes. This place is so fun. Today I ate the Red Velvet Cupcake and it was divine. I totally recommend going at least once . . . but that is like eating one oreo . . . but seriously just go. If you need someone to take you, I volunteer {as Tribute}.

2. The Hunger Games. ha ha Did anyone catch that smooth transition? I think I am funnier than I am. Moving on. I rented the Hunger Games from Redbox today and we are going to eat pizza and bread sticks and watch the Hunger Games and cuddle. That sounds like the best night ever right now. Back to the Hunger Games . . .I am a little obsessed.

3. Pinterest. Thank you pinterest for holding all of my pins. I mean really. I am a true pinterest addict. It is soo convenient to go back and look at all of my idea boards. And all my funnies. . . Those are perfect for a rainy day :) Here is one of my FAVORITE videos. It makes me laugh every. single. time!
  4. And thank you pinterest for holding my quotes . . . I need these a lot too. Not to mention Pinterest makes my "Cat-Lady like" love for elephants acceptable to my peers. Thanks.
Dolly Knows.
5. Panda Express. A couple weeks ago I found this recipe that swore it made Orange Chicken that tasted like Panda Express and I was SO excited! because Dalan doesn't really like Panda Express but I really love it. So my thought process was like yes! now I can make it at home . . . and so I did and then it actually didn't taste anything like Panda Express and it was actually really quite gross. Which was SUPER disappointing. Getting back to my point Dalan took me to Panda Express this week and it was delicious. I got Orange Chicken and Honey Shrimp.

That is going to wrap up my list this week. It has been one of those roller coaster weeks but there are lots of things to be grateful for. Apparently things like eating food and Pinterest. . . . I just reread my blog and I am pathetic . . . oh well, it is honest.

Happy Eating & Pinning.

Good bye August.

I am so glad that August is over! I loved August but WOW was it busy.  I am very excited for Fall to come and to have some slower days ahead. Here are some highlights from the last week of this crazy month.

1. Just a Regular Disney Prince
For my number one this week I am going to give you a little dialogue.
Dalan (coming into the house): Timari! Do you want a new pet?
Me (in another room): Is it scary??
   Dalan: No.
Me (walking into the room): WHAT?! Did you catch him?
Dalan: Yeah. He came and landed by me so I caught him.
   Me: What? Really?

Yes, really. Dalan just caught a bird. The bird was completely content with it too. He let Dalan pet his head and when Dalan let him go he just gracefully flew away to check things off his bird to do list. This just makes me smile. When does this happen? Dalan is just that cool.

2. This was my first full week of middle school! It was a fun week. I have been able to get to know the students a little more and I am enjoying myself.

3. My family came to visit this week! It was fun to show them Murphy and Murphy loved having visitors.

4. We were able to go to the Temple! We walked through the Brigham Temple Open house with Dalan's family. It was fun to finally go with Dalan!

5. Dalan's Birthday! Dalan is now 27! We had a really good day together. I rode in the truck with Dalan for a while. I made him a cake, and we went to Logan for dinner. It was a fun day. I am so grateful for him.

Happy September.

Our Suprise is Here!!

 Meet our new puppy Murphy!
He is about 9 weeks old and he is from Midas, Nevada.
Dalan caught sight of this pup on KSL a while ago and mentioned that if he were closer we would get him! However, he wasn't closer :(
On Thursday we looked at him again and noticed that they were coming to Cache Valley!! It was totally meant to be right!
We were both very excited! Dalan called and asked about this cute little guy. (We are becoming buds as I blog outside, who could leave this little guy alone!)
He is already making us so happy. We miss Pepper and hopefully he will help our hearts feel happy.
Everyone needs to come visit us now and meet our newest addition :) He is very alert and super friendly especially with the Littles!

Howdy.

Howdy Blog World. I just had to jump on and share. This is my project from DIY Crafts in Tree Town that I mentioned yesterday. I LOVE it!
And this picture just makes me smile. Never has my sign Buckaroos Lose Yer Shoes meant so much. This is Dalan on Lucky, or Luckily as we call him.

Just a normal day.

5 Days.

This week has seriously FLOWN by! I can't believe it. This was my "week off." I was resting from Bear Lake and from Trek and prepping for my new job, but I don't think any of that happened?? Oh well. It was a good week anyway.

MONDAY: We went to my sister's appointment. I wasn't going to be able to go, but at the last minute I could! I was very excited. She got another cast before her surgery. Look at that smile! She has the best attitude for her Cast Parties. Never heard of a cast party? Well . . . We start with the pre-party and we always make something with frosting and with sprinkles! We do hair and make-up and we head off to the "main event." Then we have an after-party, lately the after-party is at City Creek because they have Chick-Fil-A and a Princess Store. aka The Disney Store. You can't beat it.

Tuesday: Making play-doh and watching Tangled. Some of the nephews and our niece came to party at our house Tuesday. We acted out Tangled for ever, I just LOVE their imaginations! and then we made and played with play-doh for hours! Hopefully I can work off all of the pizza and mac&cheese they made for me ;)

Also, I helped the Young Men and Young Women learn a dance for the Temple Celebration! It is going to be so great! I am jealous that me and Dalan can't join in!
This is a picture of the Bride's Room in the Brigham City Temple. So beautiful. I can't wait to go to the Open House :)

Wednesday: Corn day. Dalan, Kelsey and I bagged frozen corn. It was sticky and it made my eyes itch but it will be so nice to have corn from the garden through out the year. P.s. Kelsey is living with us for a couple weeks while she is homeless. One of the many joys of college. But it is so much fun to have her here to hang out with!

Thursday: My social security card came in the mail early! Can you believe it? Early? It made my life go soooo much smoother! I also was able to go on a mini trip with Dalan in the Semi Truck. It was fun to be with him and talk and sing our hearts out to the radio.I love that man.

Friday: DIY Crafts! Today I am going with my friend Abi to this great store and I am buying some cute lettering! I bought the paper about a month or so ago and now I will be able to put it all together! So excited! I need something cute for my shelf.

P.s. I will have a surprise for everyone on Monday night! I am extremely excited about it. . . I can't hardly wait for Monday to come!

Top Trek Tales

Here it is! My Top Trek Tales :)
Here we are on the first day Square Dancing. Dust was everywhere!
1. Bus rides! ha ha Just kidding. The bus rides were so long and so much a part of my week I think I have to include the time that I spent on the bus . . . with no air conditioner and lots of happy kids :)

2. Our trek family: Our family was awesome! I wish I could put a picture up but as I was only a temp parent I better not :( They were so mature and respectful and overall awesome. We got so lucky!
This was our campsite on the first day.

3. Hiking: 15 miles on the first day and about 7 on the second day. My feet were so so so sore! But Dalan and I escaped without any blisters! The long hike was our favorite. Our group was probably the smallest group by numbers and by size and they did better than many of the other families. We rock. P.s. One of our family members may or may not have counted his steps, 10,500 of his steps to be exact. Just think about that.

4. Women's Pull: This part of the hike represented a time when the men were all called away and the women had to pull the carts and take care of the children all alone. We had a mini devotional before we did it and it was beautiful. We sang Sisters in Zion and then we began our pull through the sandy trail. It was hard. I have a lot of respect for the pioneer women.
:
This picture is of all the men standing in a line as we pulled the carts. I saw many, many tears drop as they had to stand and watch.

5. Jens and Elsie Neilson: After the Women's Pull our handcart was pulled to the side for an unexplained reason. A few minutes later Dalan and I were also pulled aside and we were asked to reenact the story of Jens and Elsie Neilson. The story is this. Jens had walked so far and his feet had become frozen and deformed. He couldn't walk no more. To him his only option was to have his wife leave him behind to die. She couldn't leave him behind and instead insisted that he ride in the handcart. She was 5 feet tall and he was a big man, yet she pulled him. I love this story of love and devotion. When they asked us to do this I just started crying. When we started acting Dalan had to have a limp and then fall, we were far enough away that no one could see out faces and we were laughing about our acting skills. When Dalan had to jump in the cart he felt so bad. And my heart broke. I started pulling and about a minute later the cart started moving. It was so hard. If I stopped we would go down hill backwards. Finally, kids that they had chosen to be angels came running to my rescue. The boys came to the front and pulled and the girls ran to the back to push. The boys lifted the handcart so that I could not push at all. I can only imagine that the angels ran when they helped Elsie and they run to help us too.

6. Devotional: We were lucky to have a speaker come after the first day and he had some of the greatest stories. His name was President Lorimer and he was in the middle of purchasing the Sun Ranch and Rocky Ridge. He had such great stories about our Prophets!! He was such a great balance of spiritual and humor and I loved it.

7. Martin's Cove: We had four of the Priests carry 12 of the Young Woman across Sweet Water. It was a really cool experience. Sitting in Martin's Cove was really a site to see also. I actually liked Dan Jone's Cove the best. I felt the spirit the very strongest there.

Sorry that this post is so long but this week was PACKED with exciting things! Believe it or not I left a lot of great stories out!

Thank your Ancestors today :)

Five Faves.

1. Family Time! Josie had a Dr.'s appointment on Monday so my family came to visit Sunday night and we started our Dr. Party by making cupcakes topped with frosting and sprinkles. Monday she got her cast and we took her to the Disney store. She was IN LOVE with the princess store.  We spoil her.

2. Bear Lake. Dalan and I waited behind and picked up the boat Wednesday morning and hauled it over to Bear Lake for Dal's family's reunion. I love this picture. We have so much fun. He makes me laugh.
Here we are suited up and ready to ride in the boat!

3. Trek. Today has been a good day of preparing things for Trek. We found clothes for Dalan, got a first aid kit together and we got Dalan's bed roll in working order. It is coming up so fast. I am getting excited! I will be taking lots of pictures and I can't wait to show you! Monday we will look like Pioneers.

4. Aloe Vera. Bear Lake kicked my butt. I needed way more sunscreen than I used. After babying my burns today though I think I will survive. And don't laugh, my survival was in serious questioning this morning. Also, soaking towels in milk and placing them over my sensitive burns worked miracles! I would definitely recommend it.

5.Team USA! The Olympics are so great. I love watching all these sports that I would never usually take any interest in. My favorites are always swimming, beach volleyball & gymnastics. If I were an Olympic Athlete I would be a gymnast. But that ship has sailed. I am old as dirt compared to those Gold Medalists. But they are so cool.

Look who I found today! Just a little baby bird chillin' in the yard.

Fab 5

1. The Bachelorette had its happy ending. Usually I totally have picked out the winner but this season I could not choose my favorite. Which was fine, I ended up loving the ending. It was sweet. I always hope the best for them. I know that it is a silly show, but I am always a little sad when it doesn't work out. I will be crossing my fingers for them! Someone needs to tell do something different with his hair though . . . .

2.City Creek. Shout out to some sweet girls for going to City Creek with me after a hard 2 weeks. It was so fun, I needed a girls day.Thank you so so much! My review for City Creek is high, it was beautiful. There were plenty of stores and I think I even got a little tan.

3. Laughing.

4. Pioneer day making pioneer dresses! I couldn't have spent Pioneer Day in a more festive way! Mary helped me to make these two skirts and I love how they turned out. I am getting so excited for Trek. I am glad that we were chosen! Here is a sneak peak to my Trek outfits :)

5.  Eating at the table. We got a table!! Isn't that great? Sunday dinner was absolutely awesome eating at our new table. We put a roast in and had mashed potatoes and gravy and green beans and rolls. Mmmm. It was delish. The simple joys. I didn't know how much I missed having a table.

7 Things

 1. Dalan: because he was disappointed that he was not number one last week ;) I will have you know there is no order to these.Just what pops into my head. Dalan is the best decision I have ever made and he continues to impress me. I love dating him and being with him 24/7. Maybe we can all have an understanding that he is always number 1 :) I would hate for you to get sick of my bragging and happiness surrounding me and Dalan.
2. Morning Walks. This week my sister-in-laws and I started walking in the mornings. It has been fun, it is so good to talk and walk :) Also a good jump start to the day. P.s. I have been loving Yoga lately. It really helps my back, which is always tight and twisted. literally.
3.  Ogden area - Saturday I went on a date with Dalan and it was so much fun. He wouldn't tell me where we were going and we ended up in Ogden. Now don't jump to conclusions. Ogden is starting to classy up a bit. We went to Five Guys and walked around the area and then we shared our favorite ice cream at SubZero. It was so much fun to be with Dalan and away from the farm for a minute.
4. Finding out our family for Trek. Big news. We now have 9 kids! Dalan and I are so excited to be Ma & Pa's on this trek and these kids seem like a lot of fun!
5. Pepper is lost :( It is really sad. I don't really want to talk about it. Doing this 7 Things was good because this week has been one thing after another. Anyway. I hope she comes back.
6.  Elephants. Is that weird? I have had a love for elephants since forever! I have since given up my collection of glass elephants that I collected when I was 10 and now I just collect pictures of them on pinterest. Thanks pinterest for providing me that less "cat-lady" outlet. I just love this pictures of an baby elephant playing soccer . . . another love. I think I was friends with elephants in Heaven.

7. Envelope Budget Software: I am being such a nerd on this Top 7. But seriously, I am kinda loving this idea. I am a planner. I have mentioned this before but here I go again. This online little system is a Budget Plan. I really like this because I always feel guilty when I spend money on myself. This is the cycle. Usually I will do really good and not buy stuff for months and then {BAM} one month I realize it and I go crazy buying awesome stuff. So. I need a way to save money for super cute things that I want . . .  Rock47 Jeans or a table . . . . ya know cute stuff. So I think I am going to give this a try and see how it goes, so that I can buy things gradually and not all at once :)

Have a good week everyone. It you see our puppy, send her home.

Out My Window.

Outside my window today I am looking at the Brigham City Temple! Disclaimer: I know that it is pretty small, but it is 15 minutes away, so still impressive. (If you don't know where it is look in the center of the picture, right between the trees). It is so crazy that we can see the temple from our house. Hopefully no one plants a tree there .  . . So beautiful.
I am also enjoying the pretty horses in the pasture. I love when they get to roam in the pasture. Perfect time for pictures.
So bummed that this is blurry, but I am going with it anyway because they stopped fighting when my camera was ready :)

Happy Tuesday Everyone.
